Sri Lanka is Emirates’ next destination on its global recruitment drive for skilled technicians

The airline is looking to onboard Workshop Technicians via Roadshow in Colombo on 10 March

Emirates, the world’s largest international and most profitable airline, is continuing its global search for top-tier aircraft technical talent, with Sri Lanka confirmed as its next destination. The airline will host information sessions in Colombo on 10 March 2026 for skilled and aspiring Workshop Technicians interested in joining its engineering workforce based at its hub in Dubai.

The roadshow forms part of the Emirates Group’s global recruitment drive to onboard 17,300 professionals across 350 roles during the current financial year. The initiative underscores the Group’s strategic focus on strengthening its technical capabilities and further elevating maintenance standards across its international fleet.

Both experienced and aspiring workshop technicians are invited to attend the Colombo session, where Emirates’ recruiters will outline details of the role, remuneration, benefits and life in Dubai. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage directly with the airline’s engineers and managers to gain practical insights into working life, career progression and professional development within Emirates. Emirates Engineering

Emirates Engineering is among the world’s most technologically advanced aircraft maintenance facilities. GCAA CAR V approved, Emirates Engineering supports the airline’s fleet of Airbus and Boeing aircraft, which are the world’s largest, and the fleet of 30 other airlines through third-party maintenance contracts.

Engineering the future

Construction on Phase 1 of Emirates’ engineering facility at Dubai World Central began in 2024 with an expected completed time of 2027. Spread over 1 million square metres, it is purpose-built to support Emirates’ aircraft fleet and operating requirements into the 2040s. It will also be a centre of excellence for commercial aviation engineering services in the Middle East, with spare capacity potentially offered to other airline operators. Emirates engineers will be at the very heart of this groundbreaking facility, from leading routine aircraft checks, bespoke paint jobs, light to heavy maintenance programmes, and engine repair and testing, to carrying out full cabin interior fitouts and aircraft conversions.

Workshop Technician is responsible for carrying out maintenance/ calibration tasks on Emirates and third-party aircraft components/ tools and equipment in accordance with company procedures and regulations. The job holder works as part of a team under the direction and guidance of the assigned supervisor/ Engineer within the appropriate trade/cross trade disciplines for which they have been trained.
