Traveleye Alliance Sri Lanka has officially launched the Traveleye People-Powered Tourism Ecosystem, a new approach to tourism development focused on developing and strengthening micro and small tourism enterprises across Sri Lanka’s tourism ecosystem.
Established in 2006 as Explore Asia Holidays (Pvt) Ltd, the organisation has evolved over the years from its origins in travel into a broader tourism development organisation. Explore Asia Holidays (Pvt) Ltd was subsequently renamed Traveleye Alliance (Pvt) Ltd, reflecting the organisation’s expanding vision and commitment to building a more connected and collaborative tourism ecosystem for Sri Lanka.
The Traveleye People-Powered Tourism Ecosystem brings together people, tourism enterprises, destinations, travellers, institutions and strategic partners through a connected approach to tourism development. Guided by the People-Powered Tourism Framework, it seeks to create stronger tourism enterprises, resilient destinations, meaningful travel experiences, strategic partnerships and lasting value for People, Places, Partnerships and Prosperity.
The ecosystem is also guided by Traveleye Alliance Sri Lanka’s “Beautiful Sri Lanka” destination-brand positioning, Beautiful People. Beautiful Places. Beautiful Experiences. Through this positioning, Traveleye seeks to celebrate Sri Lanka’s beauty through its people, places, culture, heritage, nature, hospitality, knowledge and experiences, while creating meaningful opportunities for tourism enterprises and destinations. Through Beautiful People, Beautiful Places and Beautiful Experiences, we seek to create more reasons for visitors to Come Back For More.
At the heart of the ecosystem are Beautiful People, tourism entrepreneurs, Travelpreneurs, hosts, experience creators, destination champions, guides, farmers, artisans, professionals, innovators, investors, community leaders and others who bring knowledge, skills, creativity, entrepreneurship, local connections and resources into Sri Lanka’s tourism ecosystem. They are people who care about others, respect people and places, value honesty, integrity and fairness, care for the environment and communities, and are willing to contribute, collaborate and create shared value.
The initiative is also grounded in Sri Lanka’s own heritage of knowledge and wisdom, including generations of practices relating to sustainability, stewardship, resource conservation, agriculture, traditional medicine, food, crafts, culture and living in harmony with nature, while remaining aligned with contemporary global thinking in sustainable, regenerative and responsible tourism.
Through its connected Travel Collective, Host Experiences, Ecosystem Support and Destination Facilitation platforms, Traveleye Alliance aims to progressively develop and strengthen tourism enterprises, host stays, experiences, destinations, travel corridors, partnerships, programmes, projects and other ecosystem initiatives across Sri Lanka.
