Against the backdrop of its 75th Anniversary celebration at the Cordis Hong Kong, Skål International Hong Kong took a decisive step toward regional reintegration, formally signing a Memorandum of Understanding to rejoin the Skål International Asia Area, a move that pairs heritage with strategy and ceremony with substance.
The signing was conducted by Brian Harris, Vice President, Skål International East Asia, and Jason Kelly, President, Skål International Hong Kong, before an audience of senior travel and hospitality leaders. The agreement restores Skål International Hong Kong’s formal alignment with the Asia Area Committee and establishes a practical framework for cross-border collaboration, coordinated programming, and shared regional priorities.
The moment was both symbolic and commercial in its logic: strong networks outperform isolated excellence. Re-entering the Asia platform gives members broader market access, tighter institutional cooperation, and a more efficient channel for professional exchange across one of the world’s most dynamic travel regions.
“This signing represents both a homecoming and a springboard,” said Brian Harris. “Skål International Hong Kong has long been one of the great standard-bearers of our organization in Asia. Rejoining the Skål International Asia reinforces regional cohesion and positions the club — and the wider network — for more integrated growth and professional exchange.”
“Rejoining the Skål International Asia Area through this MoU is both a return to our regional family and a clear commitment to action,” said Jason Kelly, President, Skål International Hong Kong. “We were pleased to welcome Skål Macau President Vinzenz Rosa de Pauli to be a part of the MoU signing, reflecting the partnership and collaboration Skål Asia involvement can build across the region. With the upcoming Skål Asia Congress in Macau, we have an immediate Skål Asia platform to connect Hong Kong, Macau, and our wider network, and to advance practical Greater Bay Area tourism initiatives through the trusted Skål framework. We look forward to deepening our reengagement with the region through Skål Asia and translating that collaboration into tangible outcomes.”
Founded in 1949, Skål International Hong Kong has long held a respected position within the international Skål community. The anniversary program was designed not only to honour that legacy, but to position the club for its next growth chapter with greater regional integration, stronger knowledge exchange, and expanded member value.
With the MoU now in place, Skål International Hong Kong and Skål International Asia leadership will advance joint initiatives spanning industry forums, membership development, and sustainability-minded tourism programs. This practical cooperation is designed to yield durable returns for the professional community they serve.
