Marine Bay Colombo Celebrates Double Win at South Asian Travel Awards

Marine Bay Colombo, a member of Macksons Hotels, has secured two prestigious honours at the South Asian Travel Awards 2026 (SATA), being named Leading City Hotel and Leading Budget Hotel.

The double win is particularly noteworthy for Marine Bay, which opened only last year. It follows the hotel’s Gold Award for Leading City Hotel at SATA in 2025, establishing a strong record of regional recognition within a remarkably short period.

The South Asian Travel Awards celebrate excellence across the tourism and hospitality industries of Sri Lanka, India, the Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, bringing together leading hospitality brands from across the region.

Commenting on the win, Sarah Mizver, Group Director – Hospitality & FMCG of Macksons Holdings, said:

“To receive two SATA awards at such an early stage in Marine Bay’s journey is an incredibly proud moment for us. My sincere thanks go to our entire team for their dedication and hard work, and to our guests for their continued trust and support.”

Dinesh Hettiarachchi, Group General Manager – Hotels of Macksons Holdings, added:

“These awards reflect the passion and dedication of our entire team. I extend my sincere gratitude to the Chairman, Managing Director and Board of Directors of Macksons Holdings for their unwavering support, guidance and confidence in us. We remain committed to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences to every guest.”

Marine Bay Colombo forms part of Macksons Hotels, the hospitality arm of Macksons Holdings, alongside the award-winning Mandarina Colombo. Built on Macksons Holdings’ longstanding commitment to quality and service, the hospitality arm continues to strengthen its presence in Sri Lanka while working towards an ambitious long-term vision of expanding its hotel portfolio both locally and internationally.

The latest accolades further strengthen Macksons Hotels’ position within Sri Lanka’s hospitality landscape and reflect the Group’s ambition to build a distinctive home-grown hospitality brand with a growing regional and international presence.
