FOX RESORTS WINS LEADING HOSPITALITY DEVELOPMENT COMPANY AT SATA 2026

Fox Resorts, the hospitality arm of The Capital Maharaja Group (CMG), has been named Leading Hospitality Development Company at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2026, held in Malé, Maldives.

The prestigious regional recognition marks an important milestone for Fox Resorts, celebrating a decade of building a distinctive Sri Lankan hospitality brand centred on people, genuine service, memorable food, responsible tourism and a strong sense of place.

Fox Resorts owns and operates Fox Jaffna and Fox Kandy, two properties known for their warm hospitality and beautiful natural settings, from lush gardens and swimming pools to abundant birdlife, heritage, art and striking landscapes. The latest honour follows Fox Jaffna being named SATA’s Leading Heritage Hotel for three consecutive years, further strengthening the brand’s standing within South Asian hospitality.

The award also recognises a broader approach to hospitality development. Through Fox Faculty, the company invests in training and developing the next generation of hospitality professionals, while Fox Vacations supports the group through inbound and outbound travel services.

Sustainability is an important part of this journey. Fox Resorts has introduced initiatives across its properties covering water conservation and wastewater reuse, solar hot water, reduced single-use plastics, responsible waste management, linen-reuse programmes and community clean-ups. The company also works with local artisans and creatives, supports community and animal welfare initiatives and has begun aligning its operations with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) framework.

“This recognition reflects what we believe is fundamental to building strong and enduring businesses — investing in people, giving them the opportunity to grow, and creating a culture where excellence becomes a shared responsibility,” said Suresh Srinivasan, Group CEO of The Capital Maharaja Group. “Fox Resorts is a shining example of how that philosophy translates into a business that continues to strengthen its offering, develop its people and contribute meaningfully to Sri Lanka’s hospitality sector. We are very proud to see the team’s work recognised on a South Asian stage.”

That growth will continue in December 2026, when Fox Resorts expands its portfolio with the opening of its new luxury wellness hotel in Kirinda, Yala. Combining an intimate beachfront setting with Ayurveda-inspired therapies, yoga, meditation, nutrition, mindfulness and curated wellness programmes, the property will offer travellers to and within Sri Lanka a distinctive new wellness experience rooted in nature and Sri Lankan hospitality.

“We are immensely proud of this recognition, and particularly proud of the team that earned it,” said Chris Quyn, CEO of Fox Resorts. “Our guests are at the heart of everything we do, and this award reflects the care, consistency and warmth our teams bring to them every day. As we expand into Yala and wellness, those same values will continue to define Fox Resorts.”

The South Asian Travel Awards, established in 2016, is one of the region’s recognised platforms for excellence in travel, tourism and hospitality, with nominees assessed through a rigorous process incorporating independent industry evaluation and public voting.

For Fox Resorts, being named Leading Hospitality Development Company 2026 is a proud recognition of how far the company, its people and its properties have come and a strong foundation for the next stage of its growth.

Above all, it is an achievement shared by every member of the Fox Resorts team and every guest who has been part of its journey.
