Secrets of Ceylon is a community of boutique hotel owners, that work with in their local community. We comprise 13 unique and boutique properties and experiences, and each follows the BEE Philosophy – Buy local, Employ locally and Enrich the community. Many of our hotels are private holiday homes, some with the family for over 100 years and all offering unique experiences. All offer 4 star service and quality, but not in the traditional sense of TV and mini fridge in the room – we offer authentic and local experiences and for our foreign visitor this is what they look for in luxury and wellness. For example : Horathapola Coconut Estate offers a free coconut estate walk to learn about the most important tree, Idal Villa offers a free train and village house experience and Hapu Tales offers a Thaal cuisine traditional meal presented by the owner. Some properties the owners themselves host the experience which adds a whole additional dimension.
