Cinnamon Grand Colombo marked a memorable chapter in its Vesak celebrations with the unveiling of its first ever Vesak Thorana on 30th May 2026, welcoming guests, devotees, and visitors to experience the spirit of Vesak through light, reflection, and togetherness.
The Thorana was ceremonially unveiled at the auspicious time amidst the serene chanting of Pirith, creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere to commence the celebrations. The opening was graced by a venerable priest from the Gangaramaya Temple, together with Nazoomi Azhar, General Manager of Cinnamon Grand Colombo, invited guests, and members of the hotel team.
The hotel grounds and gardens were beautifully illuminated with traditional Vesak lanterns, transforming the property into a vibrant display of colour and devotion. Visitors gathered throughout the evening to admire the Thorana and experience the festive atmosphere.
As part of the celebrations, Cinnamon Grand Colombo also hosted a Vesak Dansala, serving ice cream and beverages to visitors and passersby, reflecting the values of generosity and compassion that define the Vesak season.
Commenting on the occasion, Nazoomi Azhar, General Manager of Cinnamon Grand Colombo, said, “Vesak is a time that brings people together in the spirit of peace, compassion, and gratitude.
