ACORN GROUP HONOURED FOR HR EXCELLENCE IN THE HOSPITALITY, TOURISM & LEISURE SECTOR

Acorn Group has been recognized as the winner in the Hospitality, Tourism, and Leisure sector at The Great HR Awards, organized by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka in collaboration with Mercer. The award highlights the Group’s unwavering commitment to progressive, people-centric human resource management.

The ceremony was held on 25 November 2025 at Cinnamon Life, graced by Chief Guest Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and Guest of Honor Ms. Nadeeka Wataliyadda, Director General of Labor. A number of reputed organizations from across the country competed in multiple categories, including Excellence Awards, Commendations, Category Awards, and Sector Awards. All submissions underwent a rigorous assessment process aligned with globally accepted HR standards and evaluated by an expert jury panel.

CIPM President Priyantha Ranasinghe, speaking at the event, emphasized the importance of the awards, stating that “These awards honor the organizations that redefine workplace culture, improve employee experience, embrace technology wisely, and strengthen industry relations.”

Acorn Group’s achievement is a reflection of its continuous effort to cultivate a supportive, inclusive, and growth-oriented work environment—one where talent is recognized, development is encouraged, and individuals remain the organization’s most valued asset.

Commenting on the recognition, the Group stated that the award reinforces its dedication to aligning HR practices with global benchmarks while driving innovation across the sectors it serves. Acorn Group also commended CIPM Sri Lanka for championing this initiative, which elevates industry standards and celebrates organizations that demonstrate excellence in human resource management.
