Marriott Sri Lanka Business Council’s Annual Fundraising Tradition
The Marriott Sri Lanka Business Council is proud to formally announce the continuation of its signature annual fundraising tradition, the Road to Give Walk-a-thon 2025. Scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025, this highly anticipated event will see a unified effort from ITC Ratnadipa, Sheraton Hotel Colombo, Sheraton Kosgoda Turtle Beach Resort, and the Courtyard by Marriott Colombo. The Walk-a-thon stands as a powerful annual commitment to raise crucial funds and public awareness for the development and well-being of the local community, with this year’s efforts dedicated to directly enabling the holistic development of children under the care of SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka.
The Road to Give is more than a walk – it’s a living expression of Marriott Sri Lanka’s purpose. Each year, our teams, partners, and community members come together in a shared commitment to uplift the next generation. This year, all proceeds will directly fund vocational training centers, medical services, and nutrition programs at SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, ensuring that children and young adults receive the care, education, and accredited skills they need to thrive. Our goal remains clear: to create measurable, lasting impact by equipping youth for self-sufficient, empowered futures.
We warmly invite the public to join the Marriott Sri Lanka Business Council in this meaningful endeavor on October 25th. Your generous LKR 5,000 entry fee is a direct and impactful investment in a child’s future, providing hope, security, and the priceless gift of education.
The Walk-a-thon will commence promptly at 6:30 AM on October 25th, bringing together hotel associates, valued corporate partners, and community members. The route will be flagged off from the Sheraton Colombo and will culminate at the majestic ITC Ratnadipa, where all participants will be welcomed with a celebratory breakfast, symbolizing the successful completion of our collective journey for good.
Funds generated through the Walk-a-thon will directly support SOS Children’s Villages’ mission to provide stable, family-like care, education, and health services. Contributions will finance vocational training centers, which provide young adults with accredited skills training to secure employment and transition successfully to independent life. Additionally, funds will help sustain essential on-site medical centers and nutrition programs, addressing critical needs like chronic malnutrition among children in their care.
The Marriott Sri Lanka Business Council calls on all individuals, families, and corporate teams to lace up their shoes and join this powerful display of compassion.
